Donald C. McGeady, 70, of Dublin, formerly of Willow Grove, Pa., died Dec. 14 in his home. He was married to Elaine H. (Hertz) McGeady for 49 years last February.
He worked for J&B Communications, Ottsville, Bucks County. Previously, he was a PBX installer and repairman for the former Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania and AT&T.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Richard and Ruth (Prodell) Steimle.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Dublin, and a former member of the consistory. He also served on its music and worship committee.
He was a member and communications officer of Dublin Volunteer Fire Company. He was the 2001 recipient of the Burpee Award. He served on the Dublin Borough Council, the Police and Property committees and was a former member of the Bedminster-Hilltown-Dublin Community Water Study Committee.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Richard D. of Quakertown, Donald R. of Dublin, Steven P. of Bedminster; daughter, Karen E. Shaplin of Perkasie; sister, Geraldine M. Lattanzi of Dunedin, Fla.; two grandchildren, a stepgrandchild, two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. McGeady, a 1964 graduate of Central Gwinnett High School and a 1968 graduate of Brenau College, retired in 2000 after teaching kindergarten for 23 years at Lawrenceville Elementary School. OBITUARY
Director of National Obscenity Law Center
Paul J. McGeady, Esq., 85, of Nutley died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Runnells Specialized Hospital, Berkeley Heights.
The funeral will be from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Ave., on Saturday at 8:15 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation is Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Born in Jersey City on Nov. 12, 1920, Mr. McGeady was a bombardier in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Italian Theatre.
He and his wife, Margaret, married in May of 1944, and Mr. McGeady graduated from Fordham Law School in 1948.
Mr. McGeady devoted the first 25 years of his legal career as secretary and counsel for the Continental Insurance Co. in New York City.
The last three decades of his life were devoted to his true calling as general counsel to Morality in Media in New York City and as director of the National Obscenity Law Center. Among other things, he and his legal team compiled the National Obscenity Law Reporter, a three-volume treatise on obscenity law, with cases dating from 1800.
Mr. McGeady believed passionately in the cause of decency. One of his last projects, still in process when he died, was the negotiation of an international treaty to ban pornography from the Interment.
A devout Catholic, he attended church regularly at Holy Family Church in Nutley. A longtime resident of Nutley, Mr. McGeady was known and loved by all.
He was the loving husband to the late Margaret V. McGeady (nee Mulligan), and is survived by three children, Margaret M. McGeady and her husband, John Cochran, Dr. Rosemary E. McGeady, Esq., and her husband, Jim Seber, and Paul McGeady, Ph.D. of Atlanta, and his grandchildren, Randall J. Santmann, Alison E. Seber and Kelsey E. Seber.
Mr. McGeady loved Ireland and the Irish. As the "Chieftain," the titular head of the McGeady "clan," he constructed the family tree over a 25-year period, which was displayed prominently at the reunions he organized and held every four years. He will be sorely missed at the next one. - submitted by
