We also know that Justin had a daughter and a son, whose names unfortunately we don't know. But we know the names of his grandchildren, Sarah and Justin. They are twins. Could it be that your grandfather is my grandfather's brother? What do you think?:) What do you know about your grandfather's family? Does he have brothers and sisters? Based on what you said, I think our grandfathers are brothers! The grandchildren you mentioned are Sarah and Justine, my cousins. Justin's two children were James, my father, and Florence, both passed away. I'd love to get in touch with you, as I know very little about my father's side of the family...

Hi, Valentina and Kurt,
Kurt and my grandfather Justin was born in Lithuania, came to US around 1916 or 1917, as the story goes, with $.25 in his pocket.
I never heard anything about him going to Argentian first, I doubt that is true.
His middle name was Martin.
He owned a grocery store for many years through the dep
ression in Westfield, helped many families survive the depression with free food.
His date of death was definitely September 15, not Sep 1, of that I am sure. I will never forget that day. It was my mother's (his daughter's) birthday.
He married Victoria Frances Goodusky, who died December 14, 1999, in Westfield. They are buried together there.
Not important, but my sister Sarah and I are not twins, we are 18 months apart in age. (Many thought we were twins growing up, though.)

| Esther Zala was my grandmother. She raised my father David and his sister, Mary in Jamaica, Queens and went on to live in Sutton Place, Manhattan.
