Precious Lord Take My Hand
Delphine Velencia Tillery, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and sister in –law was born on
September 29, 1962 in Chester, Pennsylvania. She departed this life on Monday, June 27,2005 after a short illness.
Delphine was affectionately known as “Dee Dee” by family and friends.
Dee Dee was a member of Macedonia Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania. She loved spending time with her church family and doing crafts. She attended the Delarc
Evening College. She was a member of the
Kennedy Foundation Special Olympics.
Today we celebrate her life by reflecting on how she touched our lives. Dee Dee leaves to cherish her memory her devoted parents, Ernest Sr. and Mable Tillery, five brothers, Ernest (Junie )Tillery Jr. of Athens, Ga, Kirk Aubry Tillery , Eric (Rick) Tillery of Chester, PA, Benjamin Tillery of Louisville,KY; Jeremiah (Mike) of Tallahassee, FL, two sisters: Vanessa (Nessa) Wise of Tides Water, VA and
Virtania (Cookie) Tillery of Atlanta , GA, a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her deeply.

A Celebration of Life
Florence Evelyn Duncan Tillery, also affectionately known as “ Flo” or Flo Jo” by her family and friends. Daughter of the late Rodney Duncan and Florence Duncan Powell, was born on May 14, 1940 in Chester, Pennsylvania. Flo, a loving and caring woman was a gift to us until she slipped away quietly on October 27, 2006 at her home.
Flo was educated in the Chester Upland School District. Later Flo worked at Children and Adult Disability and Educational Services (CADES).
Flo was a faithful member of the St. Mark C.C. Church in Chester, PA, where she loved her Pastor and Church Family. She was an active member of the Jackie H. Myers Senior Ushers, Chester and Vicinity Usher Association. She was also a member of the Golden Age Ministry. Sister Flo enjoyed waking up early on Sunday mornings to arrive at church to fold the church
programs and strut around in her usher’s uniform. .
Today we celebrate her life by reflecting on how deeply she has touched our individual lives. In addition to her compassionate ways, she was known for speaking boldly and standing behind her convictions. Those who knew Flo knew besides her faith in God, there was nothing that was more important to her than her family.
She was married to the late Marion “Dick” Tillery Jr and from that marriage she bore seven children. Also preceded her in death, brother Rodney “June” Duncan was her grandson Brandon Williams.
Flo leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Florence
Duncan Powell (Bob), sons Marvin Tillery (Barbara), Marion Tillery III (Debora) and Victor Tillery; daughters Rosalind Burton, Cheryl Ann Dickerson (Morris), Diane Cunning (Isaac) and Yvonne Tillery; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Travers, Sara Washington and Yvonne Mitchell; three brothers Walter “Pete”, Ronald “Fuzzy” Duncan and Rodney “Junior” Wesley; two brother in-laws Ernest Tillery and
Joseph “Jabo” Tillery; three sister in-laws Clarice Slowe, Kitty Gerst and Mable Tillery; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who loved her deeply.
Flo was exceptionally grateful for the love and dedication her sister Shirley showed her during her extended illness.
