Walter Stokem, Jr. was born in Scranton, PA and moved to Endicott, NY at about age 5. His father was Walter Stokem, Sr. His grandfather was Julian D. Stokem. These Stokems are descended from the family line of E. Lemuel Stokem who resided in CN in the 1700’s.
Walter Stokem, Jr.’s mother’s maiden name was Elizabeth (Betsy) Williams whose mother’s maiden name was Thomas. Walter had an older sister Pearl. Pearl was twice married and had a daughter named Jeanette (Jan) Richards. Janette was a beloved niece to Walter and Walter’s wife Dorothy. Pearl’s second marriage was to Harry Wilber. Pearl Wilber she died in her mid 50s.
Walter was an employee of IBM Endicott for over 40 years.
Walter Stokem, Jr. married Dorothy Ann Stokem while Walter was serving in the US Navy during WWII. After the war Dorothy and Walter lived most all their lives in Endicott, NY. They had 4 children: David Walter, Kenneth Charles, Patricia Jane, and Robert James.
