BURRIS, Richard Lee, 53, of Perdiz Covey, S.C., died Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Conway Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Burris was born in Zainesville, Ohio, a son of the late Kenneth Burris and Marion Davis Burris. He worked for Horry County Schools.
Mr. Burris was an U.S. Army veteran and an active Mason in the Murrells Inlet Lodge.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Mr. Burris was predeceased by a sister, Marcia Robinson.
Surviving are his wife, Julie Kasper Burris of Conway; one son, Andrew Burris and wife, Alysha of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Katherine Burris and fiancee' Kevin Alexander; one granddaughter, Vada Grace Burris; three sisters, Katherine Deleau and husband, Kenneth of Clermont, Fla., Karen Horning and husband, David of Ravenna, Ohio, and Eleanor Redpath; Bellaire, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas Burris and wife, Tammy of Canton, Ohio, and Kenneth Burris and wife, Linda of Clermont, Fla; grandmother, Lucille "Lucy" Burris; stepmother, Freida Kelly; one sister-in-law, Ruth Prekup and husband, Larry; a special companion, Oliver and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
