Sandor Racz Was born in Hungary. He and his brother fought in the Hungarian revolution, leaving the country with his brother, going to several countries, then residing for some time in Columbia, where he met his 1st wife. He came to America not knowing the language, although learning and mastering around 12-15 languages in his lifetime. He worked at a service station when he first came to America, had to learn English and saved his money until he was able to buy his own service station in the Los Angeles area.
Later in his life, he owned Oxnard Carburetor in Oxnard, CA in the 1970's. He was married to Angela and had a daughter, Jeanette Racz.
He later had a common law marriage with Inzia 'Fay' Willmon-Reid for many years, and he had 4 step-children, Melody Reid, Ralph Reid, Steve Reid & Carol Reid. Together, Sandor and Fay opened Pacific Carburetor in Santa Barbara, and later in Ventura, CA. Fay opened Star Advertising Co. while they lived in Goleta, and Sandor started his own publishing company, Racz Publishing Company, and was an author of several books - notably his authoritative book "Carburetor Basics, Trouble-Shooting, and Rebuilding". They expanded Pacific Carburetor to another shop in Ventura, CA, closing the shop in Santa Barbara. After some time, both Sandor & Fay decided to move their business to Las Vegas, CA. Having sold both Pacific Carburetor businesses after moving to and living in Ventura for some time, both Fay and Sandor decided to move the carburetor business to Las Vegas, NV, naming the business Carburetor Exchange, which later became a small chain of carburetor businesses. Fay left due to a serious illness and passed away not long after in 1994. Sandor then retired to Fillmore, CA to live out the rest of his years. He bred "tumbler pigeons" and raised small farm animals. He loved his family. He moved his mother from Ventura county to Las Vegas after the business took off. He loved his family - his mother, brothers, his first wife & daughter, as well as his second and his step children, as well as 4 step grandchildren. He was rumored to have another marriage to a 3rd wife after Fay left.
He kept company with friends from Hungary and Europe throughout his life, making a number of trips back to Hungary, Europe and parts of the US.
