| Also known as Captain Fuzzy Plunkett, Fuzzy, to his numerous friends, retired from the Lone Star Brewing Co, in San Antonio, Tx, where he had worked for decades as top tour guide, and trainer for the brewery's hunting/show dogs. In years prior to the brewery,Fuzzy had worked in show business and circuses. Considered by many to be the best all-around animal trainer in the United States,He hAd trained birds, dogs, chimps,as well as lions, tigers, elephants, as well as seals. Plunkett was contacted by other trainers, vets, and zoos that had animals that were experiencing problems, to include health problems. From pythons to elephants, Fuzzy was able and willing to give his experienced and helpful council to all that needed such help. Fuzzy's family traveled together as true entertainers; they were experts in acrobatics, juggling, live stage acting performances, even as accomlished musicians. But most would remember Fuzzy as possibly the most single remarkable man they ever met. His sense of humor and quick wit was ever present. His heart was as big as Nebraska, the state he was so proud of and in which he was born and raised....Dickins, Nebraska to be exact. A well travelled man, Fuzzy was supreme when it came to public relations at the Lone Star Brewery's magnificent Buckhorn Hall of Horns Museum complex. Wherever a visitor may have been from, Fuzzy most likely had been there and could name something...or perhaps...even someone that he had met from the same area. Tour bus drivers always requested that Fuzzy be the one to give guided tours of the museum because of both his thorough knowledge and his amazing sense of humor. Dignitaries knew him and requested Fuzzy when they had to impress out of town visitors. Regardlezss how "Big" they may have been -whether it be government, TV, Hollywood...you name it, Fuzzy remained the same to everyone. And they loved him for it. Fuzzy truly was unique. There have been few,few like him before. He was a genuinely friendly and warm person. The song, "There's No People Like Show People" could easily have been written about him. Though short in stature, "Captain" Melvin Y. "Fuzzy" Plunkett was a truly great man, the likes of which we may never see again.
