| Clauzell Lee Pence 1908-2003 Clauzell Lee Pence, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed from this life and went home to be with her Lord on September 2, 2003 in Danville, Arkansas. Clauzell was born in Yell County Arkansas near the town of Danville on September 4, 1908 to Benjamin Harrison and Lula Wyatt Hunt. Clauzell married Gilbert Sylvester Pence on October 3, 1926 by George W. Pool, the same justice of the peace that had officiated her parents' marriage 20 years prior. After a short time of living in Oklahoma, they made their home near family in Yell County Arkansas. They return to Oklahoma in 1941, making their home in Norman when they lived until 1969. G. S. and Clauzell were blessed with nine children: Gerald L., Billie Joann, Merrill T., Zelma June, Kenneth W., Travis V., Leslie M., Wyatt H., and Phillip B. She enjoyed 26 grandchildren, more than 40 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren. Clauzell was loved and respected by so many. She handmade many beautiful quilts for orphaned children, family, and friends. Her family wishes to thank God for such a wonderful grandmother, a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a child that brought honor to her parents. Clauzell served God faithfully and was a lifelong member of the church of Christ and attended the Alameda church of Christ in Norman and later the Danville church of Christ in Danville, Arkansas. Clauzell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert Sylvester, five brothers: Coy, Gervase, Manning, Glenn Elvis, Basil, two daughters, Billie Joan and Zelma June, and one grandson, Joel. Burial will be beside her husband and her daughter, Zelma June, at the Good Shepherd Garden of the Sunset Memorial Cemetery near Norman on Monday, September 8, at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of her grandson, Merrill Thomas Pence.
