| Samuel was born Samuel John McCreanor on Jan.26th 1877 at Lisnaward townland, Dromore parish, a couple of miles north of Banbridge. His parents were Margaret nee Adams & John McCreanor, a grocer. The family shifted to Belfast by 1882 where other children born were Margaret Ann McCreanor (1882), Mary Potter McCreanor (1885) and Janet Adams McCreanor (Christmas Day 1889). John McCreanor went to Boston in 1889 and was joined by the family in 1890. Samuel's sister Janet disappears from all records and was replaced by Sarah H McCreanor...was she renamed? The family lived at Allegheny, Pennsylvania. John McCreanor married twice more but Margaret's death has not been located. - submitted by
