Obituary
Mary M. Alger
Mary Margaret Alger, 94, of 94 South Ave. in Harrisonburg, VA died Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
Mrs., Alger was born December 17, 1912, in Penn Laird, and was the daughter of the late David Franklin Stroop and Selena Susan Good Stroop.
She was & homemaker and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.
On Sept. 24, 1939, she married Claude Sylvester Alger, who preceded her in death July 21, 1965.
Survivors include four sons, Samuel S. Alger of Luray, VA, Clarence D. Alger of Rileyville, VA, Nolan. D. Alger of Mount Crawford and Everett R. Alger of Luray, VA; three daughters, Anna L. Cubbage of Stanley, VA, Betty J. Catron of Bel Air, MD and Dorothy M. Alger of Luray, VA, 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pastor Frank Painter will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, VA. Burial will be at Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley, VA.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
