"Howard Maetzold Rites in Waconia
Funeral services were conducted at the Yetzer Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for Howard J. Maetzold. Rev. Malcom Shattuck of the Bethel Baptist church Mound, officiated. Interment was at the Lakeview Cemetery of Waconia. Pallbearers were friends of the deceased, members of the Belgrade Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Maetzold passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Fairview Hospital. Cause of death was lung cancer. He was 59 years and 18 days of age.
He was born on the Bachmann farm, now the Eugene Hilk farm, near Waconia on December 15, 1902, a son of the late William Maetzold and his wife Mary Bachmann Maetzold.
He had been a hardware and grocery merchant in Belgrade and has only recently retired to Maple Plain where their new home is not yet completed.
Surviving are his wife Genevieve Larson Maetzold, a son, Vernon Maetzold of Roseau; a sister, Mrs. George Mooney of St. Paul; two brothers Maynard of California and Charles of Devils Lake, N. Dak.
Deceased is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Neuman and Misses Edna and Amanda Bachmann of Waconia city and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fink of St. Bonifacius." - submitted by

Russell S (Butsie) age 77 of Hopkins. Born June 25 1904 died April 21 1982. Graduated from Red Wing High School & Hamline University. Football & basketball coach and athletic director Hopkins High School 1931-1970. Survived by widow, Mary H.; son, James R. S. Maetzold & his wife Heidi and their daughter Laura N, all of Witchita Kansas; sister Grayce (Mrs Frank Carter) Red Wing; cousins, Mr & Mrs James Maetzold, Edina, Mr & Mrs Tom Maetzold, Hopkins, Betty Jane (Mrs Seth Withers), Red Wing; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was long time active in various community affairs and was a member of the Lions Club of Hopkins. Reviewal will be 5-8 pm on Thursday at Washburn-McReavy---Strobeck-Johnson Chapel, 1400 Excelsior Blvd Hopkins. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 715 Minnetonka Mills Rd Hopkins. Private interment Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing. Tickets for the Annual Lions Club Pancake Breakfast will be available at the reviewal. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to the Butsie Maetzold Memorial Fund c/o Hopkins High School, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, the Lions Club of Hopkins, or to a charity of the donors choice.

James w Maetzold, 74 Naples Fla died Wednesday at Jewish Hospital, Ky while on his way to the Twin Cities. He was born in Red Wing and is formerly from Edina, MN. He was a member of Red Wings 1940-1941 state basketball tournament teams and was named to the all-state tournament team. He was a first lieutenant with the US Army Air Corps and was a B-24 bomber pilot during WW2. He was vice president of industrial relations for Graco, Inc and had retired. He was a member of St Stevens Episcopal Church in Edina Minn and Trinity by the Cove Episcopal Church in Naples.
He is survived by his wife Betty; his children Susan (Tom) Moss of St Paul, Charlie (Linda) of Whitefish Montana, Mary McNulty of Minnetonka Minn, and David (Kathie) of Columbus Ohio; nine grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jane Withers of Red Wing Minn; and one brother Tom (Patti) of Minnetonka and Red Wing.
Memorial service will be at 4:30 pm Monday at St Stephen's Episcopal Church, 50th Street and Wooddale Ave in Edina. Burial will be in St Stephan's memorial gardens. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, Minnesota Affiliate, or Habitat for Humanity. - submitted by

Maetzold Thomas O., age 75, of Minnetonka, died Nov. 11 of heart failure. He is survived by his wife, Patti; son, Tim (Anne-Amy-Sam); daughters, Julie (Rick-Graydon), and Jane (Steve). Tom was born in Red Wing, MN, attended UNIV Cedar Falls, IA where he met Patti; graduated from U of M MSP and served in the USAF. Before retiring he was President of Maetzold Associates Inc., and was previously employed by NW Banco; Dayton's; F & M Bank; and Kraft Foods. He was active in a number of organizations including Rotary, United Way and a long time member of Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Ave. Mpls., where services will be held Sat., Nov. 15 at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church music program; Vocal Essence; American Heart Assoc. or donor's choice.

Patti Maetzold
Maetzold, Patti L. Minnetonka, completed her journey with ovarian cancer on October 14. She is survived by her son, Tim (Anne-Amy-Sam); daughters, Julie Rentz (Rick-Graydon); and Jane (Steve); sisters, Beverly Beatcher and Sharon Oschman; brother, Tom Leese, all of California; and sisters- in-law, Betty Jane Withers and Betts Maetzold. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Tom. Patti was born in Minneapolis, attended high school and college in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and was employed by the Commanding General of the USAF base in Lake Charles, LA. She was later employed by Gibson Greeting Cards Co., and Maetzold Associates, Inc., where she was VP/CFO. Patti was an active member of PEO; The Woman's Club of Minneapolis; Ard Godfrey House Board; and numerous other organizations, as well as Plymouth Congregational Church of Minneapolis, where services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to VocalEssence; The Woman's Club; Ard Godfrey Fund Capital Campaign; American Cancer Society, or donor's choice. Maetzold, Luella "Lu" Age 95, passed away peacefully on December 16 at Mount Olivet Home. Born 5/5/13, Lu grew up on a farm near Angus, MN and graduated from high school in Osakis, MN. She moved to Minneapolis where she met her beloved Everett whom she married in 1939. They were a fun-loving couple whose lives revolved around family gatherings, friends and church activities. After Ev died unexpectedly in 1953, Lu worked many years for Myhr's Bakery in South Minneapolis, serving countless customers who she still liked to reminisce about. Lu is survived by sons, Denny (Linda) and Dave (Sharon); granddaughter, Leslie; sister, Katherine; and special niece, Colleen. Preceded in death by father, Hans and mother, Barbro; and 13 siblings. Lu was a loving, caring person who never asked anything for herself. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorials preferred to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church or the Animal Humane Society.
