| Mrs. Rosa Kuschel, 83, died Friday morning, June 14 in St, Mary's Villa, Pierz, where she was a resident. Rosa Weis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weis was born May 22, 1891 in Buckman Township. She lived in Buckman Township until 1961, at which time she came to Pierz to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She celebrated her golden anniversary as a member of the Christian Mothers. She was married to John Kuschel in St. Michael's Church, Buckman, on April 23, 1913, and he preceded her in death in July of 1959. Surviving Mrs. Kuschel is one son, Raymond of Pierz. She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held today, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Pierz with Rev. Leo Otto of Harding officiating and interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Lector was Harold Stumpf. Honorary casket bearers were Ida Virning, Rose Suess, Isabel Gall, Isabel Anderlie, Kathleen Gruber and Eleanor Otremba. Active casket bearers were Paul Gangl, Clyde Emos, George Suess, Leo Sauer, Frank Sauer and Raymond Sauer. | Funeral services for Gaelerd Kuschel, 48, 2701 Golf Course Rd., were held Wednesday, May 26 at the Libbey-Crotteau-Carlson Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Schmiege officiating. Interment was at Itasca cemetery. He was born May 5, 1928 in Poplar, Minn., and moved to Grand Rapids with his family when he was eight years old. He was raised here and attended Grand Rapids schools. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in China and served with the Minnesota National Guard in Korea. He married Viola Potter in Grand Rapids Dec. 29, 1948. He was a member of the Ponti-Peterson VFW Post and was a member of First Lutheran church. He died May 23 at Itasca Memorial hospital. He is survived by his wife Viola, Grand Rapids, and two sons, Dennis and Robert of Grand Rapids, and three grandsons. Kuschel on June 14, 1938, in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. The couple lived and farmed in Little Rock, MN, from 1938-1961. Margaret taught school in the country schools in Little Rock, Buckman and Harding, Minnesota for 37 years until retiring in 1974. The couple relocated to Pierz in 1961. Margaret liked craft work and enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and spending time in her garden. She was a member of the MEA teachers association and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. Survivors include husband, Raymond W. Kuschel; brothers, Carl Bennett of Wenatchee, WA; Charles Bennett of Wenatchee; Lawrence Bennett of Wenatchee; and Clarence Bennett of Wenatchee; sisters, Fyrn Highful of Wenatchee; Doris Weeks of Wenatchee and Mary Newberry of Cashmere, WA; and many nieces and nephews. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Kuschel and Steven Kuschel, both of Vero Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Debbie Kuschel, Onamia; two stepdaughters, Jodie Williams, Brainerd, and Deana Kohlgrat, Onamia; nine grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and three brothers, Albin Kuschel, Brainerd, Richard Kuschel, Houston, and Tom Kuschel, Maple Grove. His first wife, Betty L. Kuschel; his second wife, Eve J. Kuschel; a daughter, Shawna. His parents; and two brothers, Robert Kuschel and Ervin Kuschel Jr., died earlier. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Garrison with Pastor Terry Grzybowski officiating. Burial will be in Dykeman Cemetery in Garrison Township. | Irene E. Kuschel CROSBY -- Irene Elizabeth Kuschel, 84, Crosby, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born March 22, 1918, in Hughton, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Claude and Constance (Litchy) Holmes. She moved to Holdingford with her parents at an early age. She married Raymond Kuschel on Feb. 19, 1938, in Holdingford. They moved to Mille Lacs Lake for a few years before moving to Pine Center. They lived in Pine Center for many years where they operated a bait store. She worked at the Onamia hospital for 20 years. They moved to the east side of Mille Lacs and lived there for 12 years before moving to South Long Lake in 1989. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and a past member of the Wigwam Club. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Petrin, Bay City, Wis.; two sons, Kenneth Kuschel, Brainerd, and David Kuschel, Anoka; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Julia Wellington, Brainerd, and Caroline Anderson, Baxter; and two brothers, Raymond Holmes and Cyril Holmes, both of Brainerd. Her husband died earlier. Services were today at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Kuschel, 59 Sartell Jan 8, 1949 - Sept. 12, 2008 Memorial services will be 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, for James Erhard Kuschel age 59 of St. Cloud, who died on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Reverend Alfred Stangl will officiate. Inturment will be at a later date at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery at Little Falls, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at Daniel Funeral Home. James was born on January 8, 1949 in Little Falls, MN the son of Erhard and Renelda (Kranz) Kuschel. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1967. In November of 1968, he was married to Nancy Cagle. James then enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed at Minot Air Force Base, near Minot from 1969 to 1973. After his honorable discharge in he attended St. Cloud Vocational College studying Carpentry. He graduated in 1976. St. Cloud has been his home since that time. He is survived by: his daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Smith of Albertville, MN, two grandsons, Christopher of Grand Rapids, MN and Jason of St. Cloud, MN, one sister Jacky (Jim) Sherohman and one brother Wayne (Brenda) Kuschel both of St. Cloud, other relatives and friends.
