She was the daughter of Maria Brewster (Carson) and Curtis Brewster.
Her father died abt. 1889 at sea.Her mother remarried.Maria married Joseph DeAdder.He was the only father that Laura really know. Some of census lists her as Ethel instead of Laura but always as daughter of Joesph and Maria DeAdder.My mother Georgie Jess(Huntley) has Mrs Joe De Adder as one of the first Jehovah's Witnesses in King's County Nova Scotia. They were referred to as Millennial Dawns or International Bible Students back in the early 1900s.She had been a Christian Adventist prior but many Christian Adventists in the area became Jehovah's Witnesses resigning from the local church and Maria was one of them.My mother just passed away in Feb.2013 at the age of 99 and 5 months. She mentions Mrs Joe De Adder several times during my life time and I have finally discovered a few things about her.She was Maria Carson before she married Curtis Brewster.She had a brother Henry Carson. I think he was the father to my mother's great aunt Lottie (Charlotte) Huntley( Carson)My mother's great-grandfather and great-mother;George and Mary Huntley were also Christian Adventists and became members of the International Bible Students in the early 1900s. Charles T Russell visited this area apparently around 1906 -1910 and stayed with my great-great grandparents home.Some say he wrote material while staying with. I am curious as to whether Laura E Kiser and her husband James A were associated with Jehovah's Witnesses after they were married and had their own family. - submitted by
