Lawrence Kiwak

Lawrence T. ``Butch'' Kiwak, of Forty Fort, and formerly of Swoyersville, died Sunday in Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Larksville, he was a son of the late Louis and Mary Anne (Hahn) Kiwak. He attended Swoyersville schools. He was the owner and operator of Kiwak Trucking, proprietor of Kiwak Service Station, Forty Fort, and was a mechanic at Malpass Construction Co., Forty Fort. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Hedwig's Church, Kingston. He was past president of the Kingston-Forty Fort Lions Club, American Legion Post 644, Swoyersville, and of the Home Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hedwig; sister, Sophie Wallace; brothers, Louis, Frank, Joseph, Frederick and Chester.
Surviving are his son, Lawrence M., Sweet Valley; daughter, Hedy Clothier, Vestal, N.Y.; two grandchildren; sisters, Florence Reilly, West Wyoming; Marie Sawchak George, Swoyersville; Rosalie Parsons, Dallas; Ann Annese, Middletown, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Hedwig's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NEPA Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, Wilkes-Barre, or to the American Lung Association of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.
