Obituary for Florence Loretta Golowski, my grandmother.
Florence Golowski
Visitation for Florence Loretta Golowski, 72, of Bourbonnais, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes with the rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley, where she was a member.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mrs. Golowski died Saturday (July 3, 1999) at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Buckley, the daughter of Joseph and Florence Craner Gleason. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Frank Leo Golowski, Jr., whom she married May 8, 1948, at St. Patrick's Church; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rita and Jim McClure, and Carla Scheppler, all of Bourbonnais, Deborah and John LeSage of Kankakee, Linda and David Talley of Carmel, Ind.; three sisters and two brothers- in-law, Catherine Tuttle, and Mary and Clarence Calvert, all of Bradley, Reva and Larry Ronna of Paxton; two sisters-in-law, Betty Gleason, and Marge Hauert; six grandchildren, Amy and Justin LeSage, Joshua McClure, Jennifer, Lauren, and Amanda Talley; and several nieces and nephews and Darla.
Deceased are two brothers, Francis and Jerry Gleason; a son-in-law, Darrell J. Scheppler; one sister-in- law; and five brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Golowski was retired from the Coupon Redemption Center at Kraft General Foods.
She enjoyed bingo, the riverboat, flowers, writing poetry, and collecting butterflies.
