Esther Gingerich, 82, of 6352 State Route 39, Millersburg, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at her residence after an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Jonathan Miller officiating. Burial will be at Coblentz Cemetery, Berlin Township.
Friends may call anytime today (Tuesday) after 2 at the residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
She was born June 14, 1918, in Nappanee, IN, to Jacob M. and Lizzie (Miller) Burkholder and married Ervin Gingerich on Dec. 19, 1940. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Merle (Marilyn) Gingerich, Allen (Wilma) Gingerich, Ray (Grace) Gingerich, Barbara (Ed) Schrock and Martha (Wayne) Weaver, all of Millersburg, Edna (Edwin) Troyer of Sugarcreek and Betty (Robert) Schrock of Walnut Creek; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Edward and Raymond Burkholder, both of Nappanee, IN. - submitted by M. | Deacon Ervin N. Gingerich, 91, of 6352 State Route 39, Millersburg, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 12, at 9 a.m. at the Mose J. Coblentz residence, 6221 State Route 39, Millersburg, with Bishop Jonathan J. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Coblentz Cemetery. Friends may call anytime Tuesday and Wednesday at the Coblentz residence. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. He was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Holmes County, and was the son of Noah M. and Barbara (Miller) Gingerich. He married Esther Burkholder and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2001. He was a retired painter and a member of the New Order Amish, North Sharp Run District Amish Church. Ervin was the original Compiler of the Ohio Amish Directory. Surviving are seven children and their spouses, Merle (Marilyn Crosby) Gingerich of Millersburg, Allen (Wilma Robison) Gingerich of Millersburg, Edna (Edwin L.) Troyer of Sugarcreek, Betty (Robert) Schrock of Walnut Creek, Ray (Grace Stull) Gingerich of Millersburg, Barbara (Edward) Schrock of Millersburg and Martha (Wayne) Weaver of Millersburg; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Alvin Gingerich of Millersburg, Edna (Mrs. Mel Beachy) of Martinsburg, Mary (Mrs. Sam D. Yoder), Emma (Mrs. Ervin Miller) and Mose Gingerich, all of Millersburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, a brother, a son, and a grandson. - submitted by M. Weaver on 02/19/2015 |
