Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Brighton, for Bernadette Gillitzer, 74, formerly of the Watkins and St. Cloud area, who died Tuesday.
Arrangements were made by Waterstown Memorial Chapel, New Brighton.
Bernadette Gillitzer was born in St. Nicholas to Mike and Wilhelmina (Stommes) Rausch. She married Sylvester Gillitzer in 1947.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey of New Brighton; two grandsons; and sisters and brother, Stella of Rockville, Marie Rousselange of Waite Park, and Mike of Cold Spring.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; son, Ron in 1998; and sister, Viola Ashfeld in 1987. - submitted by

Mrs. Appolonia 'Appie'Gillitzer, age 95, of Annandale, died Sat., Sept. 15, 2001, at the Annandale Care Center where she has been a resident for the past 3 years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tues., Sept. 18, 2001, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale, with Rev. Stan Kozlak officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Mon. & 9-10 a.m. Tues. at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Mon. at the funeral chapel in Annandale.
Appolonia 'Appie'Gillitzer was born Aug. 19, 1906, in St. Nicholas, MN, to Edward & Ann (Eicher) Lardy. She married James Gillitzer, May 24, 1927, at Lake Henry. Together they owned & operated Gillitzer's Resort on Bass Lake, near Annandale, from 1946-1959. They lived in Orange City, FL, from 1959-1992 while spending the summers at their home on Bass Lake. She was a member of the Florida Civic Center Association, Orange City, FL, & St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
She is survived by her 4 children, Eileen Amsden of Orange City, FL, Sylvin & his wife, Joyce, of Orange City, FL, Donna Nelson of Burnsville, MN, & Marge Stuhr & her husband, Jack, of South Haven, MN; 14 grandchildren; & 27 great-grandchildren.
Her husband; & son-in-laws, Charles Amsden & Richard Nelson, preceded her in death.
The pallbearers will be Mike Gillitzer, Bill Stuhr, Rick Nelson, Jim Gillitzer, Cory & Jimmy Slentz. Dureen Gasser will be the organist.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Loretta E. Gillitzer, age 80, of St. Cloud, who died Monday July 30, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital from complications due to Alzheimer’s. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday (TODAY) at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park.
Loretta was born on May 9, 1927 in Albany, MN to Stephen and Lena (Forster) Maritsch. She married Leonard M. Gillitzer on October 24, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She was a member of St. Joseph’s parish in Waite Park and V.F.W. Post 428 Auxiliary.
Loretta enjoyed spending time with family, going to the lake, shaking dice, quilting and playing bingo with her friends at Country Manor.
Loretta is survived by her children Lenny (Barb) of St. Cloud, Rick (Terese) of Foley, Gail (Michael) Jahn of St. Cloud and Kathy (Dennis) Bragelman-Larson of Clear Lake, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Leonard (June 21, 2002), daughter Janet Ethen (September 14, 1997), son-in-law Kenny Bragelman and stepsister Eileen Hollenkamp. - submitted by

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Williams Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph. St. Joseph’s parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Jim was born to Andrew and Adeline (Schloemer) Gillitzer in St. Cloud. He was a 1971 graduate of Apollo High School. He then served in the United States Army until 1973. For 19 years, currently as a Super-intendent, he was employed at Minko Construction, Inc. in Fargo, ND. Jim enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, Gopher Hockey, hunting, working at Minko, and especially fishing at Sugar Bush Lake.
Jim is survived by his son, Dan of Moorhead; mother, Adeline of St. Cloud; siblings: Bob (Brenda Olson) of St. Joseph; Ron (Mary) of Decatur, IL; Deb (Peter) Tomasino of Elk River; Sue (Brett) Haugen of Medford; ten nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Andrew and brother, Randy.
