Worcester--Richard L. Garrepy Sr., 77 of 557 Southwest Cutoff, a World War II veteran, died Sunday, Jan 26, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.
He leaves a daughter, Diane R. Matson, with whom he lived; a son, Richard L. Garrepy Jr. of Rhode Island; a sister, Thelma Floyd of Milford; a brother, Paul Garrepy of Connecticut; six grandchildren; a great grandchild; nephews and nieces; and his former wife, June (Barr) Garrepy of Millbury. A sister, Evelyn Mahoney, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, May 1, 1925, son of Frederic and Margarite (Plamondon) Garrepy. He graduated from North High School, and was an Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Garrepy was a truck driver for P.S. Dubrey Trucking Co. for 32 years before retiring. He later worked as a courier for Bank of Boston. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a long time member of the Teamsters Union, Local 170. He enjoyed bowling.

GARREPY, Avis E. Avis E. Garrepy, of Cape Coral, FL, and former East Hartford resident, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, (December 27, 2007). She was the beloved wife of the late Paul F. Garrepy, Sr. Born in Worcester, MA on September 7, 1924, she was the daughter of Eurich and Eva (Beauregard) Benoit. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Stephen and Cheryl Garrepy of Manchester, Linda and Robert Jarvis of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Paul F., Jr., and Ilona Garrepy of Cape Coral, FL; four adored grandchildren, Nicole Stromer, and Christopher, Stephanie, and Seth Garrepy; and two beloved great granddaughters, Kailyn Stromer, and Summer Rose Garrepy. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 11a.m. at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

WORCESTER William M. Garrepy, 96, formerly of 23 Lancaster St. and 1050 Main St., died Monday, January 28, 2008, in Parsons Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife of 28 years, Elsa L. (Rosenlund) Garrepy, died in 1979. He leaves two daughters, Linnea K. Garrepy of Syracuse, NY, Patricia A. Grant and her husband James of Worcester; a sister, Katherine P. Carroll of Worcester; his grandson, Richard W. Grant of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Archibald N. and Catherine L. (Hearns) Garrepy. HOLDEN / SOUTH BELOIT, IL Esther M. (Rice) Garrepy, 90, formerly of Holden, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in the home of her son in Rockton, Illinois after an illness.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earle C. Garrepy, Sr. and her daughter, Mary Lois (Garrepy) Tillson. Esther was loved by all, especially by her 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Earle C. Garrepy, Jr. and his wife, Gail (Kilcline) of Rockton, Illinois; two daughters, Cecelia (Garrepy) Gates and her husband, George of Barre and Paula (Garrepy) Matthew of Holden; a sister, Sister Mary Sylvia R.S.M. of Providence, RI; and many nieces and nephews.
Esther lived many years in Woonsocket, RI, Worcester, and Holden, before recently moving to Illinois. She was a longtime member of St. George's Church in Worcester.
