| Robert Bikle was my father. I am searching for information about his father, Edwin Blaine Bikle, who was born in Hagerstown, Maryland and lived in Williamsport, PA when he died around 1916. He was called "Bik." My grandmother, Charlotte Holloway Bikle, remained in Williamsport until around 1929, when she remarried David Price Beach and moved to Wayne, PA. She kept in touch with his sister, Glen, who lived in Baltimore, but I never knew any other members of the Bikle family. - submitted by

| Charles Robert Bikle was born in Hagerstown, MD, to Charles Gram Bikle and Hazel Virginia (Adams), DOB Dec 15, 1925 (according to his application for SSN on 1/28/42; probably was actually 1926). He attended Frederick HS where he was editor of the school paper; he graduated 1944. He attended Louisberg College in North Carolina, and then went on to Pennsylvania State College of Optometry (Their records show him as a Junior in 1945). He married Norma Clare Oliver of Philadelphia; they had 2 daughters: Donna Lynne (approx 1953, last thought to be in PA) and Diane Susan (approx 1956). He had another daughter, Amy Jane (Rose) Dalton DOB Jan 15, 1958 with Elizabeth Adair Bellis Pieper (Rose) in California. He practiced Optometry in Damascus, MD for some time, where he was a member of the Damascus Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was a ham radio buff, Radio Station W3LGY, and later TI5LGY. He retired to Costa Rica; was at some point divorced and remarried to "Leo", a Spanish-speaking woman, who possibly had daughter(s) in Gaithersburg, MD. He died in San Martin, Palamares, Alajuela on May 11 (April 11?) 2001, according to the Alajuela "Registor Civil Certifica" #5799667.
