Roland Dennis Bain
Roland Dennis Bain, December 30, 1939- April 10, 2008. "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Roland Dennis Bain, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, returned to the peace of his heavenly home on April 10, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He lived a life of compassion and devotion and tried hard to lift the spirits of those who needed encouragement, attention, and a kind word. He faced his challenges for so many years with courage and dignity. He did not lose his battle with cancer - victory was in the way he lived. He had a fun sense of humor, always eager to participate in all family activities, and he never complained. He had such faith and love for his Savior, and always wanted to serve him. Dennis was born December 30, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Louis Roland and Frances Pitt Bain. He attended Olympus High School and the University of Utah, where he graduated with a degree in electri!
cal engineering. He married his sweetheart, Dawn Dalton, on June 16, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared almost 43 wonderful years together in a loving relationship that will last forever. Four children and twelve grandchildren blessed his life: Lisa and Kent Prestgard, Pamela Bain, Deena and Bryan Bain, and Nancy and James Sirrine, Christine, Keith , Makail, Keauna, Jacob, Grant, Bryson, Kevin, Garrett, Dallin, Brittany, and Kimberly. He is also survived by a sister, Connie Furstenau, and brothers, Gerald Starr and Brent Bain. As a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many ward and stake callings in many bishoprics, high council, Melchizedek and Aaronic Priesthood and Young Men's organizations. He was a wonderful friend and will be missed by all who loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Garden Park Ward, 3575 North Minersville Road in Enoch, Utah. Family and friends may attend a!
viewing on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the church prior to the memorial se
rvice. Internment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City Utah. The family wishes to thank Dr. Joseph Te, and his wonderful staff who treated his body as well as his spirit, and Dr. Donaldson and his kind staff, the Hospice staff of Southern Utah, and all the nurses and technicians who attended to him.
